BIG HUG!
Insomnia-wise, I suggest a glass of cold water. Really icy. Lowers your body's core temp, which in turn makes it easier to fall asleep. And its all natural (as far as tapwater goes :) so it shouldn't interfere with your free-range brain chemistry, which which I can sympathise greatly.
Oh, and another BIG HUG!

Interesting idea. Fortunately, I slept okay last night, because the air con came back, but I did have a glass of cold Appletiser not long before bed. :3
