Today, I'm setting out to make real and substantial progress on getting my essay written. The couch is currently a Sami Zone, which isn't fair on housemates, but it's only for a couple more days. Stacks of books, my b&w laser printer on the coffee table, all to blitz through my essay.
So, quick link: Profile-ish piece on Warren Hern, specialist in late-term abortions.
Fair warning: I cried a little, at the end. Because this is about people involved in performing late-term abortions, which never happen for a reason that isn't utterly, utterly tragic, and the people who do this difficult, terrible job have to suffer hatred and real danger to do it.

I'm about two pages into that article, and I'm so *angry* at the people who make this person's life so dangerous, when he is out there saving the lives of women. I'm not sure that I can bring myself to finish, even in the cause of self-education, because it is such a horrible culture that is being portrayed, and I don't really want to know more than I already do.
What is your essay is about if it is linked to this?

Oh, that link is unrelated to my essay.
My essay is about the anglicisation of Scottish culture after the Act of Union.
that all makes much more sense.
While I have nothing against writing strongly emotive essays, writing on topics that make you cry isn't usually a good approach, because it is so much harder to be objective.
Have you found anything neat out about your essay topic? I can understand sections of your sentence, but all strung together, I discover a topic that I didn't know existed!
