"I was really good at drawing orcas, but only if they were facing to the left." *draws orca shape in the air with finger*
"Why did they have to be facing left?"
"Because it makes sense that way."
"Why don't orcas make sense if they're facing right?"
"Because they're backwards!"

"It looks like Obama got over the line in places like Ohio because of high black voter turnout. I gather that four years of racism-based politics has kind of annoyed people. They're a bit shirty about it, so they all went and voted."
"Gosh. Who ever would have expected that?"
"Not the Republicans, apparently."

myfyr: velithya is noodling at you.
velithya: I'm not noodling, this is octopus arms. Noodling would be floppier. Octopus arming is more controlled.
I pick up my laptop to note this dialogue. While I am typing:
velithya: Are you hermit crabbing?

velithya: I don't really want a BJD doll. I've got better things I could spend my money on.
sami: What is with this doll craze? I thought that we, as a society, had reached consensus that dolls are fucking creepy.
velithya: Not so much. It's been around for ages. I guess they're just like children, only you don't have to feed them or take care of them.
sami: No, you don't have to feed them. They eat your soul all on their own.

So Chas and I were just talking about a bunch of issues - deep philosophical discussions about morality, law, ethics, and certain contentious issues.
He made this comment, which I found brilliant:
"You know how you could really rile up one of those people who think American law is or should be based on the Bible? Explain to them that it's actually based on Common Law, which means it wasn't designed... it evolved."
