So, a product of discussion of my focus issues with my psychologist today led to the following conclusion: I may, in fact, have ADD. (Out of interest, I looked up the DSM-IV criteria. I have, um, all of them.) Next week we're doing a proper assessment, and after that I have to see an actual psychiatrist.
I actually want it to be ADD, really, because ADD is treatable, and if treatment can fix this issue, that will be AWESOME BEYOND WORDS.

I totally understand the "A diagnosis with associated treatment? YES PLEASE" response. Good luck!
I know right
I mean, the tantalising possibility that one of my biggest ongoing problems is fixable... GIMME
Careful not to self-diagnose!
Note that this was a conclusion from discussion with my clinical psychologist. :)
Absolutely, but your assessment's next week right? Not to cop out, but not saying ... I'm just saying. Might see you tomorrow at velithya and myfyr's engagement walk-up :-)
Yeah, that's the formal one. :)
Alas, did not see you. I heard you were there (good luck on the chicken pox front), but you seem to have arrived after I went for a lie-down.
Yeah, I saw a group of people huddled around your recumbent form as I was going out the door, but didn't feel comfortable interrupting. Good to know you were there anyway.
Not too worried about the chicken pox thing, I should be immune and I don't normally see kids much. Might check with my folks to see if my little brother's had it (he's fourteen).

R,
I seriously hope that it's something that the medical profession can get a grip on. It would be wonderful to see you healed and full of life again. And I hope and dream that it will happen for you - you truly deserve it.
M.
