I seem to exist at the moment in a perpetual state of struggling to keep up. I'm possibly months behind on LJ - I've actually lost track - and I've not followed SurveyFail at all. People keep talking about macros and I haven't even seen one. Anyone got pointers to where I can see the good macros?
Anyway, today has been a bit mixed. The good part was that I went to Harbour Town to buy a suitcase, and it turned out Victoria Station - a bags/luggage outlet - was having a sale. So I got a 76cm expandable rolling suitcase thing, recommended retail of something like $230, for $90.
$90 is damn good for a suitcase, just in general. This one has a 15-year guarantee, which is fairly reassuring - but it seems very sturdy, anyway, and I'm pretty sure it will be adequate for me to feel I've had my money's worth at $90.
I love it when I go to buy something unusual-for-me and it's on sale.
With it I got a cabin bag for $30 (RRP $90). This I'm glad of not least because the backpack I will definitely be taking with me will have room for very little once I pack my camera(s), lenses, computer, etc. I'll have to check whether two pieces of hand luggage will be allowable, though. (If not, it's still the backpack - because the backpack is perfectly designed to take all of my valuables, and is therefore the thing that I carry with me in transit.)

I carry two pieces of cabin luggage. One of them is my laptop bag (ie backpack), and one of them is my carry-on.
