I have an HP printer and the ink cartridges are only around $10 each. They last pretty long, too. Definitely check out ink cost when you buy a new one.

Yeah, ink costs are generally fine - the one that's crazy is toner for laser printers.

But I have a very strong preference for having a black and white laser printer, because per-page they're still a lot cheaper for printing text, it looks crisper, and if I print out articles and things for uni, it doesn't smear or anything when I scribble notes all over it. :)

Oh yeah-- I should've paid more attention. I do miss having a laser printer around sometimes. I print things at work when I'm feeling REBELLIOUS but I don't like wasting their stuff.
