Moments of Permanence - February 6th, 2009

About February 6th, 2009

02:10 am
We had a surprise Bear tonight - a late visit from [livejournal.com profile] cthulhubitch. It was great to see him, I hadn't seen him in FOREVER. A nice chance to pre-catch up before Saturday. ♥

An entirely unrelated conversation with Chas after his departure reminded me of some entertaining self-ownage on the bus this afternoon.

We were trundling along on the way to my psych appointment when two loud drunk guys boarded. (It was about half past two. I totally judge people for being shabby drunks in mid-afternoon more than at night.) Had their loud, slow, stupid conversation for a while, until we got to the stop near the backpackers'.

This stop frequently collects a large group of travellers from foreign lands, and this time was no exception. A dozen or so young adults of widely varied ethnicity boarded and filed past the drunkards to take seats further back. (The drunkards had take the frontmost seats.)

One of the drunks then slurred loudly his objections to a bunch of [non-white, non-Australian persons] getting on "like they own the bus!" then pressed the button and dragged his friend off with him at the next stop, there to await the next bus (not due THAT soon) in the sun on a rather warm afternoon.

Self-expelling idiots are my new favourite kind.
