Asking the Internet: Gifts taking eye problems into account...
So, a friend of a friend has just suffered an injury to one eye. Currently has no sight, doctors have some hope that they *maybe* can reclaim *some* sight.
In the meantime, he's hospitalised. I think everyone can agree that being in hospital is boring and annoying and it sucks even before you factor in only having one functional eye, which tends to make doing anything that involves looking at stuff annoying, up to and including things like reading.
So. Dude is a nice guy, and also a nerd. Does anyone have any suggestions for toys/games/entertainments that don't require depth perception or a lot of visual focus in general, and can be taken to and played with at a hospital?
I'm also planning to troll thinkgeek and the like for fun things that look like they'll work without depth perception etc as entertainment, but it's entirely possible there's things that wouldn't occur to me at all.
(My default gift for people in hospital is something like Lego, but I don't know how annoying Lego would be without depth perception...)
