- Start getting to bed earlier than 6am. Apart from anything else, I have to be in court by 10am on Wednesday.

- Item two I just fixed.

I was having trouble with the Task Scheduler - setting it run whether I was logged in or not, it asks for my password, and was giving me an error when I entered it that I couldn't work out.

Then, suddenly, I remembered: when it was thought that Chris was going to be running the wedding broadcast on my laptop instead of me, I changed the password in case it was needed. (To "wedding", for ease of recollection.)

I hadn't changed it back.

The thing is? I log on with my fingerprint, or with face recognition. I almost never enter my password, ever. So I'd just had zero reminders of this.

I'm now glad I changed it to something easy to remember, though. My sister's laptop has a fingerprint scanner. This resulted, one time, in her being in Italy, needing some information about her flights that was on her laptop, which was here in Australia. At my parents' house, so in theory this shouldn't be a problem... except, when she called, she couldn't remember her login password, because she always used the fingerprint scanner.

Investigation suggested that it was not going to be possible to bypass the password and have the data be accessible - encryption, and all that.

Fortunately for her (in this instance), she's not always very imaginative with her passwords, and I guessed it successfully. (Which, yes, suggests her password was less than ideal, but in her defence... I'm her sister, and had known previous passwords of hers, from which I was able to derive a pattern. Also, this kept her from being stranded in Italy somewhere.)

In my own computer's case: I just changed the password to a Proper password again. Huzzah.
