I just watched the most awesome basketball game finish ever.
So, early in the game, Orlando were down 23 points. And there were some crazy things happening - like, a blatant tech foul going uncalled because not one of three refs saw what the guy holding the ball did.
From the second quarter on, though, Orlando gradually started dragging back the Cavaliers' lead, until by the last quarter it was getting really close... then the scores drew level. And for a while, the teams were fighting to stay even.
Then...
... Orlando Magic pulled two points ahead with one second left on the clock.
Cavaliers called a time out.
One. Second.
Play resumes. Some furious passes from the Cavaliers, until, the tiniest fraction of a second before the siren goes, the ball leaves the last player's hands.
And, while the siren rings through the air...
... drops through the basket for three.
Cleveland Cavaliers win by ONE POINT.
Also, clearly, Cleveland residents should follow basketball, because - with apologies to any Roundheads reading this - their basketball team has a much less offensive name than their baseball team.
I am very, very slightly ill. It's making me go fully into Sick mode - when I get all sulky and don't want to do anything but curl up with blankets and juice. I was feeling kind of fail for this, until Chas pointed out that currently my baseline is feeling fairly terrible, so it doesn't actually take feeling very much worse at all to send me into "miserable" territory. So I shall be at peace with my desire to spend the whole day wrapped up in my dressing gown glaring at the entire universe.Current Music: Murder By Death (the movie)
